We all experience emotions. They are essential to our survival. Fear spurs us into necessary action when we are in legitimate danger. Anger helps protect us or others from unjust treatment. Sadness signals to us that we have lost something important, and highlights what is meaningful to us. Our emotions are like an internal weather system, guiding our attention to our needs and desires, that sometimes may lie below the surface of our awareness.  But for some people, balancing these emotions is difficult to do.

With an emphasis on fostering a compassionate and accepting stance towards your feelings, you can start to break unhelpful, habitual patterns of avoiding and numbing your feelings or engaging in harmful behaviors that are damaging to you or others.
