SELF ESTEEM
We are wired for love and connection. Because connection with others is a fundamental need, experiences of rejection can be very wounding, negatively impacting how we see ourselves and making the threat of rejection scary and painful. In order to protect yourself, you might compare yourself to other people, seeing where you rank. You might question if you are attractive enough, if you are good enough at your job and studies, or whether other people really like you. This might lead you to criticize yourself, focusing on perceived flaws, so you can protect yourself from rejection, isolation, and failure.
How I can help...
Together we will explore the landscape of your internal world. You will learn how your past experiences, important relationships, present circumstances, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and ways of interacting in the world affect your sense of self. Together we will defuse the critical voice inside that tells yourself you'll never be good enough, providing you with the space to develop a more compassionate, accepting, and kind attitude towards yourself.
